Scoodoos have arrived to the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin
Pupils from Scoil Mobhi came into the gallery to make Scoodoos sculptures and do some twig art. Their creations form a major part of the exhibition. Their creativity inspired by trees and nature is on view in the old bookshop.
They also left messages for Scoodoos and wrote notes about loving trees. All visitors to the exhibition are invited to take part and out down in writing their thoughts about trees on a Scoodoos postcard which remain on display during the exhibition in March and April.
One small tree (from thinnings) will provide enough wood for 25,000 A4 sheets or 200 – 300 newspapers.
A thinning is a 15m metre tree with a 13cm diameter measured at breast height.
